Propaganda Does Not Make News

Freedom of speech is the first in this series. It started in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi when under the pretext of Cultural Evening, anti-India slogans were raised, threatening to destroy India and fight for independence of various states in India. The worst was the glorification of a terrorist who was behind the attack on the parliament building in the past and who was executed after exhausting all legal channels. It achieved what was sought by the agents of ISI of Pakistan and other foreign vested interests- it evoked wild reaction throughout the country. The Student Union President was arrested. It was virulently opposed by communist organizations and Congress leaders. They opposed any action against the seditious uttering of the students and attacked the police action and the government for it. When the accused were being taken to the court, they created rumpus in the court premises.
